Today we had a little excitement. In the middle of the afternoon Piper was snoozing in front of our front screen door. All of a sudden she jumps up and is barking feriously. There are sirens going on and all the dogs in the neighborhood are barking. Now most of our neighbors dogs bark at sirens, but Piper never even pays attention to them, so this caught my attention. I looked outside and heard the sirens getting farther away, but all the dogs still in an uproar. Piper wanted out our side door, so I let her out and she made a beeline for the front side gate. Doug followed her out, but could see nothing. I went out the front door and turned toward the side and saw a pitbull dangeling on a chain from the back of a truck parked at our neighbors. I ran over pounded at their door shouting and raced back to the truck, where the pitbull had just managed to get her front feet on the back bumper. Her owner lifted her back into the truck. Luckily she was ok, but had it not been for the persistence of Piper, I'm afraid to think what would have happened. Needless to say Piper has amazed us once again!
